The chambray shirt adopted by the U.S. Navy is a military shirt that has been supplied since the 1930s and continues to be supplied even today!
While the style and specifications have changed over time, the shirts adopted from the beginning of its adoption until the 1950s featured gussets on both sides of the hem and a placket on the stand collar, reflecting the good old days' specifications.
The chambray fabric from this era had low tension, and repeated washing would cause it to shrink, resulting in a unique texture!
