Though generally called the "WEP,"
its official name is theJ-WFS (Jacket, Winter, Flying Suit).
The WEP is a jacket for the winter flight suit adopted by the U.S. Navy
from the mid-1950s to the mid-1970s.
The name "WEP" is derived from the "Naval Weapons" bureau of that time.
It was originally designed not as a standalone jacket, but to be worn as a suit with matching trousers, and features tabs on the lining to connect to the trousers.
Of the four spec types, this WEP is thefinal "C" type model,
established in 1966 and produced from roughly 1967 to 1973.
While the early WEP was a somewhat lighter leaf green,
the C type features a deeper olive green with more green tones.
Among military jackets, this vibrant green
