During World War II, the U.S. Army Air Forces' 90th Bomb Group, known by their nickname "Jolly Rogers,"
featured the skull and crossbones pirate flag on the vertical stabilizers of their B-24 Liberators to represent their unit name.
The 90th Bomb Group consisted of four squadrons, and this 400th Squadron is a very rare unit where the Jolly Rogers
squadron patch was color-coded in black.
The right chest features a leather patch hand-painted with the 90th Bomb Group's "Jolly Rogers" insignia.
The left chest is equipped with a hand-painted leather patch of the 400th Bomb Squadron's "Black Pirates" insignia.
The back features a hand-painted design of the unit's nickname and the emblem that appeared on the aircraft's tail.
"Ken's Men" refers to the "men under General Kenney, commander of the Fifth Air Force!"
The design on the back further enhances the impact of the jacket, leaving a striking impression even from behind.
