The M-44 trousers were adopted by the US Marine Corps to be worn as a set with the M-44 jacket.

The loose-fitting trousers are reversible, with a green woodland print on one side and a beige dessert print on the other, made from herringbone twill, just like the jacket .

The waist eyelets are for attaching hook-type suspenders, and there are also belt loops, so the garment can be worn with either suspenders or a belt.

Behind the woodland side is a large pocket large enough to cover the hips for storing weapons , which can be accessed through flaps on both sides.

The other side, the dessert side, has a pocket on the front, which is also stored through the side flap.
