The "USMC LOOPWHEEL TEE" has been released by "ANTIQUE GARMENTS".

This product completely follows the sewing specifications based on the 1940s "U.S.M.C" COTTON T-SHIRT.

It is knitted with 14/-cotton open-end yarn in a circular knit and loopwheel knit jersey.

This year, it has been re-released in three colors: the standard unbleached, last year's very popular marine green, and the new color black.

This fabric is made using a loopwheel knitting machine in Wakayama, which allows for precise adjustment of not only the yarn count and needle gauge, but also the texture.

Unlike modern high-speed knitting machines, Wakayama's loopwheel knitting machines can infinitely vary the yarn tension to create the desired texture.

This fabric has a slightly denser, thicker finish without killing the yarn's tension.

Cotton thread is used for basic sewing, and silk thread is used for the under-decoration (outer decorative thread) on the back of the collar to pursue strength and stretch.

Three types of sewing machines are used. First, FLATLOCK is used for seaming (shoulder seams, sleeve seams).

This stitch is a fundamental flat stitch for underwear tees that has existed since the early 20th century and was a standard sewing machine until the 1960s.

The FLATLOCK stitch is more angular than the U.S. flat seamer, but it is a special sewing due to the rarity of the existing machines.

Next, the UNIONSPECIAL 52800, a two-needle double-sided decorative sewing machine with a binder attachment (for collar binding), is used.

This machine is a semi-automatic oil-lubricated high-speed sewing machine introduced in the late 1930s, designed for reduced vibration and increased speed.

The stitch is a flat two-needle double-sided decoration, with the under-decoration of the folded self-fabric (jersey) collar, common in underwear, appearing on the outside.

This sewing method reduces the thickness of the collar, minimizing skin irritation and thread breakage.

Finally, the UNIONSPECIAL G76000 is used for blind stitching (hemming machine).

This machine has existed since the era of wool shirts and features distinctive hem stitching, seen in vintage T-shirts.

Although the production efficiency of this T-shirt, sewn using these vintage machines, is low, it is a special item with excellent comfort.
