This new indigo fabric was created with the image of a fawn, which is a kigo (seasonal word) for summer.

The pattern, reminiscent of spots scattered on a fawn's back, is achieved using a dye blended with natural indigo and indigo, along with brown threads.

Utilizing sashiko weaving techniques, indigo threads are placed in the sashiko areas, which tend to fade with friction. As the garment is worn repeatedly, the dappled pattern becomes more pronounced. Furthermore, the thick, overlapping threads result in a robust and durable fabric.
