TAILOR TOYO TT15792-138 Mid 1950s Style Velveteen Souvenir Jacket "WHITE DRAGON" x "BLACK EAGLE" This reversible two-tone velveteen sukajan jacket features a white dragon and a black eagle. The design is made of satin and features embroidery.
This piece is made from brown velvet fabric, which is rare even among vintage items.
The design of a white dragon with a body so long that it peeks out from between the clouds is a reproduction of a vintage design from the mid-1950s.
The reversible side features a black eagle design on blue acetate, reminiscent of a clear blue sky .
The number of colored threads used is kept to a minimum, and the figure with its wings spread is depicted using only moving stitches.
The dragon, its mane flowing, flying through the sky is embroidered in three dimensions using colored threads with a white base, and the use of different colors in parts such as the yellow edging and red tongue adds impact.
The densely embroidered eagle is contrasted with the delicate lines of the pine branches and white space, making use of the color of the fabric, creating a highly artistic piece reminiscent of Japanese painting.
Many of the early souvenir jackets were reversible and made of acetate fabric, but there were also models made of fuzzy velveteen fabric as variations from that time .
The padding increases the warmth, and the acetate on the reversible side is quilted to hold the padding in place.
Please note that slight variations in dimensions may occur depending on the characteristics of the material and the finishing method. Also, the color of the product may differ slightly from the actual color depending on the settings and environment of your device.
