About Bridle Leather

Bridle leather is a leather produced in the UK, a country with a thriving equestrian culture, and was originally made for use in horse tack such as saddles and reins.

Carefully selected raw hides are soaked in a pool called a pit using plant-derived tannins, which slowly and carefully tightens the leather fibers over a long period of time, and then a moderate amount of oil is added.

Finally, a generous amount of grease containing oil and beeswax is rubbed in, allowing the wax to penetrate the fibers and improving water resistance.

 

When you first start using it, the wax that has been absorbed into the product will rise to the surface and harden, creating a bloom, giving it a matte texture, but with continued use, the color will deepen and it will take on a beautiful luster.

 

The bloom is not applied intentionally, so the amount of adhesion will vary from item to item.

 

Bloom is a characteristic of bridle leather, and some people enjoy the process of it falling as it ages, so we generally deliver the product as is. If it bothers you, you can remove it by rubbing it with a soft brush or cloth, or by using a hair dryer to melt the bloom and then wiping it dry.

*The snaps on the coin pocket are intentionally offset so that the flap is at the bottom when the wallet is empty. This is not a defect, as the pocket is designed to be in the right position when the wallet expands with coins stored inside.

If you are concerned about small wrinkles, we recommend purchasing directly from the store, where you can choose the leather look from the stock.

 

Regarding the size indication, there may be discrepancies due to individual differences. We will accept a tolerance of ±5mm.

 

Please note that each item is produced by hand, so imperfections, sewing marks, slight misalignment or fading of the foil stamping, etc. are unavoidable during the manufacturing process and are within the specifications.
