The chambray shirts adopted by the U.S. Navy have been long-standing utility shirts, issued continuously from the 1930s to the present day.

This chambray shirt is a reproduction of the shirt adopted in the 1950s.

While there were changes in style and specifications over time, the shirts adopted from the very beginning until the 1950s featured gussets on both sides of the hem, a collar with a stand, and a placket – specifications from a good old era.

The chambray fabric from this period was loosely woven, and repeated washing caused shrinkage, resulting in a unique texture.
