BUZZ RICKSON'S WILLIAM GIBSON COLLECTION BLACK M-51 TROUSERS (BR42592)
BUZZ RICKSON'S WILLIAM GIBSON COLLECTION BLACK M-51 TROUSERS (BR42592)
Field trousers with a cotton satin lining, adopted by the US Army in 1951.
Around this time, the Army adopted the M-51 series set-up layered system as combat uniform for cold climates.
Over an undershirt and drawers (underpants), a wool field shirt and field trousers were worn, and then a cotton field jacket and field pants were worn on top of those.
The cord loop on the inside of the waist is a detail for hooking the metal hooks at the end of the suspenders.
Both M-51 jackets are designed for use in cold climates, with a loose fit designed to trap body heat and block out outside air.
Model in photo is 170cm, 63kg, wearing size M
