We have knitted an original double V heather grey sweatshirt from the 1940s.

Sewn using a vintage sewing machine.

The fabric is made of 20-count top thread for the surface and 40-count natural thread for the middle thread.

The backing is made of natural yarn #8, giving it a vintage look.

Reproduces a deep heathered gray.

 

The natural color of the middle thread is subtly revealed on the surface.

The natural heathered look that only top yarn can create.

It has a fluffy texture and does not stretch or sag after wearing.

It can be restored by washing.

 

The stitching is done using the same vintage sewing machines as back then.

We paid close attention to every detail.

 

While sewing the fabric together with a SINGER 105-4 (double chain stitch sewing machine)

Cut to the appropriate length and cover the back side with a double needle.

The stitching is visible on the front side,

When turned inside out, the outer fabric is visible through the seams, creating a unique design.

 

The cuff ribbing is also sewn with this sewing machine, and an open loop finish is used for strength.

The low thread count ensures stretch without the seams being too stiff.

 

Furthermore, UNION SPECIAL 11900 is used to press down the sewn edges and finish the stitching.

Moderate stitching prevents clogged seams and waviness.

 

The collar binder uses UNION SPECIAL 52800.

By sewing from the back, thick silk thread is placed on the front side.

This improves flexibility and strength while preventing thread breakage.
