JELADO AG94341A 41 Khaki Lastresort Chino Cloth

Just like with our Last Resort Denim, this material was meticulously crafted by disassembling several carefully selected pieces of vintage M41 KHAKIs. We analyzed the thread thickness, slub characteristics, twist frequency, and twist direction, while considering the production background and technical capabilities of the time.

The raw cotton used is Jelado’s staple: American Deep South cotton.

We have reproduced natural slub yarn with a texture that is neither too strong nor too weak.

While our previous materials were dyed with reactive dyes, these have been dyed with vat dyes, which were used at the time.

Although vat dyes are lower in quality compared to modern reactive dyes, they were highly resistant to colorfastness, friction, and sunlight for the 1950s. As they were considered superior dyes for that era, they were apparently used for workwear, towels, and other items requiring toughness.

To allow you to enjoy the aging process just like back then, we used American cotton, shuttle looms, and vat dyes. With every wash, the fabric develops a texture reminiscent of vintage items, so I am confident you will enjoy Jelado’s new 41 KHAKI.

The ultimate chino cloth—that is the LAST RESORT CHINO CLOTH, featuring uncompromising quality in the raw cotton, yarn, weaving, and dyeing.

We have achieved high reproducibility, including the distinctive offset belt loops and the 2mm-wide double-piped pockets just like the vintage originals.

While pockets are usually made with pocket lining fabric, we used separate chino fabric, just like the vintage sample.

The side seams develop strong puckering, which adds a rugged impression to the extra-wide silhouette when worn.

By matching the stitch count to that of the original era, we have captured an even more classic atmosphere authentic to the 41 Khaki.

The silhouette follows the vintage original with a deep rise and wide thighs.
