STUDIO D'ARTISAN SD-1009 GL3 High Rise Tapered Jeans
STUDIO D'ARTISAN SD-1009 GL3 High Rise Tapered Jeans
The Toyota Automatic Loom Company's GL3, built half a century ago, was one of Japan's earliest power looms, and no replacement parts exist.
Therefore, the only option is to take parts from discarded machines of the same model and replace broken parts on other machines that are still in operation.
It is a labor-intensive loom that requires a lot of maintenance and is inefficient, being able to weave only 5 metres per hour.
However, denim woven on the GL3 has the ruggedness and roughness of denim from half a century ago, making it a one-of-a-kind loom that can express denim as workwear .
D'Artisan's new standard " GL3 " series is denim made using D'Artisan's original recipes in every respect, including the uneven shape of the yarn, the yarn count, the color of the rope dyeing, and the number of stitches both vertically and horizontally, in order to make the most of the characteristics of GL3.
It has a unique unevenness and roughness that cannot be expressed in modern denim, which is produced efficiently and uniformly .
This is a product that we are proud of, having made no compromises and undergone repeated trial weaving before finally being completed.
The silhouette is based on a relaxed tapered fit, but with a deeper rise for a high-rise tapered look that makes it easier to wear.
