The Toyota GL3, built half a century ago, is one of the earliest power looms in Japan, and replacement parts for it no longer exist.Therefore, the only way to keep them running is to harvest parts from discarded machines of the same model to replace broken parts in machines currently in operation.

It is a labor-intensive and extremely difficult-to-maintain, inefficient loom that can only weave five meters of fabric per hour.

However, denim woven on this "GL3" possesses a rugged, raw quality reminiscent of denim from fifty years ago, making it a one-of-a-kind loom capable of expressing the true essence of denim as a workwear fabric.

D'Artisan's new staple "GL3" series is denim crafted according to D'Artisan's original recipe, from the uneven shape of the yarn, the yarn count, and the shade of rope dyeing, to the warp and weft thread count, all to maximize the unique characteristics of the GL3.

It possesses a unique, uneven, and coarse texture that cannot be replicated by modern denim produced efficiently and uniformly.

This is a product we are proud of, completed only after repeated test weaving without any compromises.

The silhouette is a high-rise tapered fit, based on our relaxed tapered fit but designed with a deeper rise for improved comfort.
