Toyo Enterprises was founded in 1965 and began as a distributor of US military surplus domestically, as well as manufacturing clothing for US military bases.
In 1975, when the company transitioned to a domestic clothing manufacturer, it was named "SUGAR CANE" by an officer stationed at a U.S. military base.
From the beginning, we have been committed to "Made in Japan" denim and have been making products for nearly 40 years.
This denim model faithfully reproduces the luxurious details found in jeans from the late 1940s.
More than a dozen different types of cotton threads of different colors and thicknesses are used for sewing, and are used in various places.
The uneven yarn, which recreates the vintage look, is made from a blend of Zimbabwean and American cotton and woven on an old-fashioned loom, just like in the original.
The "1947 Model" is modeled after vintage jeans made in 1947, recreating the fabric, parts, patterns, and sewing specifications. Not only does it have a standard shape, but it also boasts high quality in terms of the thread, dyeing, sewing, and specifications. Furthermore, its reasonable price makes it a representative Sugar Cane jean that has been loved by many people for a long time!
