Sponsored by the Hawaii Tourism Association and others, the campaign designated 2000, the final year of the 20th century, as the Year of the Aloha Shirt .

The poster that was used at the event was "Land of Aloha."

It is the most popular of the many aloha shirts available, and was judged to be a truly aloha shirt-like piece.

The fabric, printed in 21 different colors, was exported from Kyoto to Hawaii at the time, and is an example of Japan's exquisite craftsmanship.

Due to its precise and delicate patterning and the large number of 21 colors, this is one of the patterns that requires extremely advanced techniques to reproduce .

Using the experience gained from previous reissues, we have made further improvements and reissued this product again.

Isamu Takabuki, a Hawaii-born Japanese-American with dual citizenship, bought an old school building in Kyoto shortly after the war and started a factory called Aloha Trading, specializing in printing fabrics for export to Hawaii.

He also established the trading company Victory Import in Hawaii and its subsidiary, Pacific Trading, in Osaka, establishing the distribution of fabrics from Japan to Hawaii.

This design, which would not have existed without Japanese printing technology, has remained a classic to this day and is a testament to the achievements of Japanese immigrants.

Aloha shirts are a symbol of paradise Hawaii.

Its origins are closely linked to Japanese immigrants, and not only tropical patterns but also Japanese patterns exist as vintage items.

In the mid-20th century, when Hawaii established itself as a tourist destination, the demand for aloha shirts as souvenirs suddenly increased.

Designs and patterns became more diverse, and many pieces were created.

This is a special piece that is very rarely encountered in the process of collecting vintage aloha shirts .

Paying homage to the textile designers who created these masterpieces that are being lost over time , the collection features luxurious multi-colored prints and powerful designs, which vary depending on the manufacturer and era.

Its charm is perfectly reproduced down to the smallest detail.

That's the Sunsurf Special Edition.
