Betty Higgins was a unique brand that specialized in jackets made from brocade fabric, intricately woven with colorful threads into elaborate patterns, and women's dresses made from traditional Japanese kimono fabrics printed in Japan.

The brand started as a custom dress shop after the war, with a store in the historic Royal Hawaiian Hotel, affectionately known as the "Pink Palace," and had many customers on the U.S. mainland.

Due to the small number of men's shirts produced, there are not many existing vintage pieces from this brand, but most of those confirmed feature oriental designs.

This piece also depicts the Sankin-kotai system, a system mandated by the Edo shogunate for feudal lords.

It is a very rare design, meticulously depicting a daimyo procession forming a line to travel to Edo.

Influenced by the oriental boom that started in Hawaii and spread to the U.S. mainland, many designs featuring "good old Japan" were created at that time.

By the mid-20th century, when Hawaii was established as a tourist destination, the demand for aloha shirts as souvenirs increased dramatically.

Designs and patterns diversified, and many works were born.

These are special masterpieces that can be encountered very rarely while collecting vintage aloha shirts.

In homage to the textile designers who created these masterpieces, which are gradually being lost to time, we fully reproduce their charm, including luxurious multi-color prints, powerful designs, and the details of each part that vary depending on the manufacturer and era.
