TAILOR TOYO Late 1960s Style Vietnam Liner Vest "PLEIKU" (TT15634) Souvenir Vest, Vintage Camouflage Embroidery
This souvenir vest was custom-made by a US soldier stationed in the Vietnamese city of Pleiku in the late 1960s .
This model has no embroidery on the front , only on the back.
Viet-Jean embroidery is generally done with thick, matte colored threads, but chain embroidery like this done with shiny rayon thread is extremely rare.
There are some worn areas in the embroidery, which is in keeping with the vintage design.
《VIETNAM JACKET》
Like the Sukajan, which originated in post-war Japan, souvenir jackets known as Viet-jan were created during the Vietnam War in the 1960s and 1970s .
Two types of fabric are mainly used: cotton twill or a camouflage-patterned poncho liner , and the designs are embroidered with thick, matte colored thread.
